The Winona State University Athletics Department will sponsor their fifth year of “Trick-or- Treat for Cans” from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Oct 31.
WSU athletes will go out into the Winona community to collect cans and other non-perishable food items. All food items collected will be donated to the Food Shelf at Winona Volunteer Services.
“This is a tradition started by our Student-Athlete Advisory Committee to engage the Winona community and give back,” Associate Athletic Director Myranda Nash said. “We appreciate the community’s continued support and look to add a little fun by having a Halloween contest between teams that will be collecting items this year. We expect to have some laughs along the way and support the Food Shelf as they go into the Winter season. Please join us and support this initiative.”
