Winona State University has been recognized by The Winona Breastfeeding Coalition as a breastfeeding friendly business for its efforts in supporting lactating employees as well as student parents and visiting community members.
WSU currently has lactation spaces located in Kryzsko Commons, Somsen Hall and Wabasha Hall. The rooms are equipped with hospital grade, electronic pumps, and through the Student Parent Support Initiative program, students are given collection kits to use in conjunction with these pumps.
Winona’s Breastfeeding Coalition includes Winona Health, Baby Connections, Winona County Maternal Child Public Health, Winona County Women, Infant and Children, Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) and Hiawatha Valley Mental Health Center.
