The Winona State University CLASP lecture series will host Professor Edward Guernica of the political science department for the presentation “Student Activism in Comparative Perspective: An Examination of Recent Student Movements in Chile, Spain and the U.S.” at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, in Stark Auditorium.

Guernica will discuss recent examples of student groups challenging their governments in Chile, the United Kingdom, Spain and the United States. The discussion will compare the current movements to those In the 1960s, when students in various countries organized and challenged their governments on issues of war and peace, government repression, elections, and other areas.
