Winona State University Computer Science Professor Mingrui Zhang has been endorsed by AT&T and the National Center for Women and Information Technology (NCWIT) for mentoring undergraduate student research.
Zhang received the 2012 NCWIT Undergraduate Research Mentoring Award sponsored by AT&T, which honors each of the recipients’ academic institutions with a gift of $5,000, part of which is going to support an undergraduate student.
“I enjoy independent learning and exploration,” said Zhang. “I want to share my enthusiasm about learning with students and contribute their life experiences.” Zhang has taught at Winona State for 15 years.
The award is an extension of AT&T’s Aspire Program, an education-focused group that concentrates on science, technology, math and engineering disciplines in underserved communities.
