Winona State University’s Habitat for Humanity club will hold the fifth annual Spooky Sprint 5K at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, at the Lake Park Lodge by East Lake Winona.
Participants can walk, run, bike or rollerblade in the sprint to raise money for Habitat for Humanity and the Collegiate Challenge Club’s Spring Break trip. The club members pick a location to go for spring break and, while there, help members of the community by building houses and working in local Restore warehouses.
The race will go almost one full lap around the big lake to reach the 3.2 mile mark. Participants are encouraged to wear a Halloween costume for a chance to win fun prizes.
Registration is $15, which includes a t-shirt, treats after the race and a chance to win prizes. Registration is available the day of the race or visit the group’s table inside the doors of Kryzsko Commons closest to the Smaug from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 22-23.
