Winona State University will host author David Jauss as a part of the John S. Lucas Great River Reading Series Oct. 17-18.
Jauss will read from his new short story collection, Glossolalia, at 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, in Stark 103.Prior to this, Jauss will visit Elizabeth Oness’s Introduction to Literature class at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17 in Minne 263.
Jauss will also visit Zachary Carlsen’s Introduction to Creative Writing Class at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18 in Minne 363.
Jauss is the author of two previous collections of short stories, Black Maps and Crimes of Passion; two collections of poems, You Are Not Here and Improvising Rivers; and a collection of essays, On Writing Fiction. He currently teaches creative writing at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and in the MFA in Writing Program at the Vermont College of Fine Arts.
