Dr. Charla Miertschin has been appointed interim dean of the College of Science and Engineering, effective July 1.
Dr. Miertschin began her career at Winona State in 1993 and has served as chairperson for the chemistry department since 2004. Prior to coming to WSU, Dr. Miertschin was a postdoctoral research fellow with professor Michael P. Doyle at Trinity University, and a teaching assistant and research fellow at Texas A&M University. She received her bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Abilene Christian University and her Ph.D. in chemistry from Texas A&M University.
