Winona State University will host a groundbreaking ceremony for its newest residence hall, Foundation Hall, at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, at the corner of Mark and Main streets in Winona.
Foundation Hall is designed to meet growing student housing needs and elevate the residential experience for Winona State’s on-campus students. The proposed facility will feature 340 beds in a modern, student-centered environment, with amenities such as air conditioning, private bathrooms, hammock spaces, and a patio.
The new residence hall supports Winona State’s long-term residence life strategy by allowing renovations in existing campus residence halls while maintaining overall bed capacity. It also reflects the university’s commitment to student success, inclusive campus life, and the strategic goals outlined in the university’s 10-year strategy plan, Winona State 2035.
“Foundation Hall is a milestone in shaping the future of student life at Winona State University,” said Jon Olson, Executive Director for the Winona State Foundation and Vice President for University Advancement. “We know students perform better academically when they live on campus, and this project supports that success by offering a more home-like, comfortable setting that meets their expectations. All are welcome to join us and celebrate!”
The Foundation Hall groundbreaking event is free and open to the public.
