Winona State University has once again secured its place as one of the best value colleges in Minnesota, according to a new study by SmartAsset, a website “committed to publishing the most accurate and actionable advice to help people navigate life’s big personal finance decisions.”

To provide a comprehensive overview of the average student’s return on investment, SmartAsset designed a new study based on a blend of both quality and affordability. The research methodology took into account five key factors such as tuition, student living costs, scholarship and grant availability, student retention rate, and the starting salaries of recent graduates.

Tuition, along with student living expenses like room and board, books, supplies, transportation, and other personal costs, were also factored into the study to capture the full financial picture of attending Winona State.

According to the study by SmartAsset, Winona State students stand to gain an average of $5,484 in scholarships and grants, along with recent graduates going on to earn an estimated starting salary of $64,700 as they enter the workforce.

The study also revealed that Winona State has one of the highest student retention rates, with 76% of students choosing to re-enroll each year and remain a part of the university’s community of learners.
