Winona State University has partnered with Mantra Health to introduce a free new 24/7 mental health resource for students.
As part of a statewide initiative within the Minnesota State system, this new online mental health resource expands existing support by offering a platform accessible for students at any time and any place.
With Mantra Health, students can find care appropriate for their needs, including sessions on evenings and weekends, sessions with diverse counselors, and 24/7 support. Students have access to 12 free therapy sessions per year with Mantra Health, along with self-help modules and a peer support network.
Winona State Counseling Services clinical staff will interact collaboratively with the clinicians at Mantra to ensure students receive comprehensive care. Counseling Services staff will be notified if a student has contacted Mantra in a crisis and a follow-up is needed. Counselors who have referred a student for continued therapy on Mantra can also share information pertinent to care with the student’s chosen therapist.
“This platform aligns with the message Winona State is constantly trying to communicate — you’re not alone. We want all students to know that whatever they’re experiencing, they have someone there to support them,” said Director of Counseling Services Kateri Johnson.
