Winona State University will present “An Evening with Maha Abouelenein” at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, in Harriet Johnson Auditorium, Somsen Hall. The presentation is sponsored by the College of Business.
A sought-after strategist and speaker, Abouelenein will share her expertise on personal branding, reputation management, modern communications, and the transformational power of storytelling.
Abouelenein has handled communications for some of the world’s largest tech companies in the Middle East, from Google to Netflix. As the CEO and Founder of Digital and Savvy, a global communications consulting firm, Abouelenein has orchestrated transformations in communication strategies for global corporate giants, high-growth startups, sports organizations, top governments, and CEOs.
Raised and educated in the United States to Egyptian parents, Abouelenien serves as a bridge between cultures, providing invaluable support to companies and high-profile executives navigating business opportunities into the Middle East market, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt.
Abouelenein was honored by PR News as one of the Game Changers in the PR Industry and named one of Minnesota’s Leading Women in Business by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Journal. Abouelenein also was labeled as one of the most influential women in Dubai and nominated as of one of Forbes Power Women of the Middle East.
Her new book, “7 Rules of Self-Reliance: How to Stay Low, Keep Moving, Invest in Yourself, and Own Your Future,” which released Oct. 8, will be a key topic for the evening’s conversation.
A book signing will be held following the event in the COB Engagement Center on the first floor of Somsen Hall.
