Winona State University will host Sandy Queen as part of the 2012-13 Lyceum season with “A Spirited Look at Wellness! Treading Lightly on the Importance of Spirituality in Wellness” at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, in Stark Hall, room 103.
Queen will explore what spiritual wellness looks like within and outside the world of religion. She will explore the definition of spiritual wellness, how it compares and contrasts to the “faith of our fathers,” and how to assess and embrace this dimension of overall wellness.
The event is free and open to the public. A reception will be held preceding the event at 6:30 p.m. in the Stark 103 lobby.
Queen graduated summa cum laude from Towson State University with a B.S. in psychology. With her energetic stage presence and great sense of humor, she is in demand internationally as a dynamic trainer and speaker. Her approach is that a sense of well-being is a function of our ability to appreciate ourselves, develop an attitude of positive self-regard and make positive choices to give us the greatest chance for living life to its fullest.
The Lyceum Series aims to provide unique cultural enrichment and educational opportunities for the Winona and Rochester campus communities.
