Winona State University’s Habitat for Humanity club will hold the fourth annual Spooky Sprint 5K at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at East Lake Winona.
Participants can walk, run, bike or rollerblade in the sprint to raise money for the Habitat for Humanity and the Collegiate Challenge Club’s Spring Break trip. The club members pick a location to go for spring break and, while there, help members of the community by building houses and working in local Restore warehouses.
The race will go almost one full lap around the big lake to reach the 3.2 mile mark. Participants are encouraged to wear a Halloween costume for a chance to win fun prizes.
Registration is $15, which includes a t-shirt, treats after the race and a chance to win prizes. To register, visit the groups’ table outside of Kryzsko Commons or in the Lower Hyphen from 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Oct. 19, 22-25. The club will also have a table at the club fair Friday, Oct. 26, or participants can arrive at the race early to register that day.
