The Winona State University Chinese Society will hold a Moon Festival Dinner at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, in the East Hall of Kryzsko Commons.

The dinner will feature traditional Chinese food and performances including dancing and singing.

The Chinese Mid-Autumn Moon Festival is one of the most important holidays in the Chinese calendar and is celebrated by Chinese all around the world. Typical celebrations include eating moon cakes, participating in matchmaking dances, lighting lanterns, fire dragon dances, and burning incense.

Tickets are $9 and are available 2-6 p.m. Wednesday and Friday and 12-6 p.m. Thursday in the Lower Hyphen of Kryzsko Commons.

The event is sponsored by Saint Mary’s University International Student Club and the WSU Chinese Society.
