The Winona State University International Music Series will present “Pipa Music of China” at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27 in East Hall, Kryzsko Commons.
Gao Hong, soloist and composer, plays a pear-shaped lute called the pipa for the concert. Hong began her professional music career at age 12 and graduated with honors from China’s premier music school, the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing. She has performed at various major festivals across the United States, as well as throughout Europe, Australia, Japan and China, and has received numerous awards for her performances around the world.
This performance is free and open to the public.
