The size of each word is a measure of its frequency in your responses. It says a lot about us. Students are foremost on our mind, followed by the community, the campus, our WSU identity, the faculty, and research. Our scale of thinking spans the local (Winona and Rochester) and the global (World). Other notable inclusions are words like campus, education, community, programs, and support, among others. It suggests to me something like this:
Students are our top priority. We serve them by building community on- and off-campus, partnering in Winona and Rochester to create a sense of place. We continue doing great things while also exploring new opportunities, including diversity and globalization. We need to support and grow quality programs to allow our outstanding faculty and staff to serve students in even better ways.
While these aren’t ideas in and of themselves, they give you a sense of what’s on our collective mind here at WSU.
More sophisticated analysis of your hopes and dreams will be forthcoming in a matter of weeks. Then the task before is to use our shared governance processes and community conversations to choose the best actionable ideas for our future. Thank you all for participating in the process, and stay tuned for more.
