cancersurvivorsWinona State University will host the Cancer Exercise Specialist Advanced Qualification workshop from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, April 8-9, on the WSU Campus.

The workshop will feature Andrea Leonard, a personal trainer for cancer survivors with over 20 years of experience. This workshop was developed for health and fitness professionals seeking to attain a higher level of mastery and work with cancer patients in post-operative exercise and quality of life programs.

Workshop attendees receive two days of specialized training and module One-Four CES Handbooks. Pilates & Yoga supplements can be purchased separately. There are four video modules that participants can access before or after the workshop for review.

There are four 25-question open-book examinations to be taken online following the workshop. Upon completion and an 80 percent or better score on the examination, graduates will receive a complimentary listing on the online International Cancer Exercise Specialist Directory.

An option to purchase half-priced membership to the Medical Fitness Network is also available. Access to a professional video library and ongoing webinar series to provide attendees with the most current and cutting-edge information in the field of oncology rehabilitation will be available as well. 

CEU’s for AFAA, ACE, NASM, YMCA, ISSA, PMA, Yoga Alliance, Canfitpro, and more are available. 

The original cost of the workshop is $425, but attendees can register for this workshop for $160. Cash or check will be accepted, but checks should be made out to Movement Science Club. Sign up in Gary Kastello’s office, Maxwell Hall, room 368.
