Middle School Student at Rochester Scrubs Camp

Rochester, Minn.  On June 14 and 15 at the Rochester Heintz Center, Rochester Middle School Scrubs Camp will be offering students insights into healthcare professions. A collaborative project between HealthForce Minnesota, Mayo Clinic, Olmsted Medical Center, Samaritan Bethany, Winona State University-Rochester, and the Rochester Public School District’s Health Science Careers Center, Scrubs Camp offers students entering grades 6-8, an opportunity to explore the many careers in the health sciences. Students will participate in hands-on learning sessions, and investigate possible healthcare careers that interest them. Some of the many health careers include nursing, respiratory care, pharmacy, clinical laboratory sciences, veterinary medicine and many more.

“Winona State University Rochester is excited to host and collaborate with HealthForce Minnesota regarding their summer camp programming,” stated Dr. Jeanine Gangeness, WSU Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Scrubs Camps will be offered throughout the summer all over Minnesota for middle and high school students.  Summer 2015 hosted over 450 students at camps, and summer 2016 is projected to host over 850 students.
