KenKen Gorman, of Winona, will be recognized by Winona State University with the Heritage Award Friday, Sept. 25, and will serve as Grand Marshal of the Homecoming Parade Friday, Sept. 26, as a part of the university’s Homecoming celebration.

Dr. Ken Gorman began his career at Winona State University in 1980, when he joined the College of Business. Gorman held many positions in the college, including chairperson of the Department of Business Education, Dean of the College of Business, Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs and Dean of International Studies. Gorman also served in interim roles, including Dean of Business and Industry, Dean of Graduate Studies, Dean of the Library, Dean of the College of Education, Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs and Vice President of Academic Affairs. During his time at WSU, served on more than 35 committees and task forces focused on areas such as salary equity, teacher education, curriculum and international education. He has co-authored three textbooks and 23 business education journal articles, and delivered more than 30 professional business and education presentations. Gorman earned his bachelor’s degree (1969) and master’s degree (1972) in business education and completed his Doctorate of Education in Business Education and Administrative Services from Northern Illinois in 1980. Gorman retired in 2010 and lives in Westchester, Ill.
