Steve BlueWinona State University will host “Engagement For Innovation” with Steve Blue at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, in the Science Laboratory Center, room 120.

The event is part of the College of Business Speakers’ Series and is free and open to the public.

Blue is a nationally recognized expert in transforming businesses into global powerhouses by showing how to double and even quadruple growth. Blue regularly provides insight for leading media and industry outlets, including FOX, BusinessWeek, Forbes, The Huffington Post, Entrepreneur Magazine, AMA, Europe Business Review, and The Wall Street Journal. His insights have led many media outlets to refer to him as one of America’s Leading Mid-Market CEOs.

For Blue, success begins with developing a ‘Cirque Du Soleil’ culture. According to Blue, most businesses have cultures by default, but what they need is a culture by design, and Blue shows CEOs exactly how to achieve this.

Blue is President and CEO of Miller Ingenuity, a global supplier of mission-critical solutions in the transportation industry. Blue recently launched a bold rebrand that took the 60-year-old name of Miller Felpax and changed it to Miller Ingenuity to honor its history while being more aligned with the type of innovative products, services and thought leadership the company provides. This rebrand drew national recognition and has led Blue to become a top expert on answering the question: “When is the right time and what is the right process for taking on a corporate rebrand?”

Blue is a monthly contributor to American City Business Journal’s popular “The League of Extraordinary CEOs” article, reaching three million executives in 43 cities. In this role, Blue interviews fellow CEOs responsible for generating rates of growth from 200 to 2,000 percent in less than three years.

Through his keynote addresses to audiences, ranging from CEO Clubs International to Harvard University, Blue provides insights for the business community on how to outdo, outsmart, and outlast the competition. Blue is also the author of “Burnarounds: Unlocking the Double-Digit Profit Code and The Ten Million Dollar Employee.”

His upcoming book, “American Manufacturing 2.0: What Went Wrong and How to Make It Right,” will be published in 2016.

In December 2014, Blue began serving on Winona State University’s College of Business Dean’s Community Leadership Advisory Board (C-LAB), providing advice, guidance and active support to the Dean and faculty of the College in achieving its mission and vision.
