Close to 1,100 students will participate in the Winona State University Spring 2014 Commencement ceremonies Friday, May 9, in McCown Gymnasium in Memorial Hall on the Winona campus.

The morning ceremony will begin at 9:30 a.m. and include the College of Business and the College of Liberal Arts. The afternoon ceremony will begin at 2 p.m. and include the College of Education, the College of Nursing and Health Sciences, and the College of Science and Engineering.

Doors open one hour prior to each ceremony.

A reception will be held following each ceremony at the pavilion near the Alumni Gazebo in the center of campus (rain location: Talbot Gymnasium, Memorial Hall).

The comments of a graduating student are featured as part of each Winona State Commencement ceremony. Jouapag Lee, a mass communication major from Eagan, Minn., will speak at the morning ceremony. Shannon Killeen, a nursing major from Cottage Grove, Minn., will speak at the afternoon ceremony.

Communication studies majors Brandon Feltz, from De Forest, Wis., and Amanda Pelley from Fountain City, Wis., will introduce the degree candidates.
