TeachingThe Winona State University College of Education is ranked among the best education programs in Minnesota in The College Database’s new ranking, “Top Colleges in Minnesota: Shaping the Next Generation.”

WSU was ranked sixth in Minnesota, awarding 380 degrees in education or teaching disciplines in 2012.

“Winona State has a long and storied national and international history of innovation and leadership in the field of education,” said Jan Sherman, Dean of the WSU College of Education. “We offer hands-on learning and practice in the field; classes taught by dedicated, professional faculty members; and preparation for a rewarding career of improving our world.”

The College Database used data from the Integrated Post-secondary Education Data System, the National Center for Education Statistics and Carnegie Classification.

Universities were ranked based on reputation, facilities and educational opportunities. Qualifying schools must be 4-year, fully accredited, public or private, not-for-profit colleges in the United States.

Winona State has also been recognized by The College Database for providing high quality education at an affordable price.
