Winona State University Senior University will offer a diverse slate of classes next fall and spring 2014.

Classes will include:

  • “Life in Running Waters: River and Stream Biology in the Midwest US,” with instructor William Richardson, 10 a.m.-Noon Thursdays, Sept. 5, 12, 19 and 26;
  • “Music of Countries and Cultures,” with instructor Ruth Bures, 3-4:30 p.m. Sept. 12 and 26, Oct. 17, and Nov. 7;
  • “Four Actresses of French Cinema,” with instructor Jeanine Black, 2-4:30 p.m. Mondays, Oct. 7, 14, 21 and 28;
  • “Classic Greek Drama,” with instructor Emilio DeGrazia, 3-4:30 p.m. Mondays, Nov. 4, 11, 18 and 25, and Dec. 2;
  • “The Short, Wild and Woolly History of the English Language,” with instructor David Marshall, 2-4 p.m. Thursdays, Feb. 6, 13, 20 and 27, and March 6;
  • “Making Sense of Modern Art,” with instructor Dominic Ricciotti 1-3 p.m. Mondays, March 10, 17, 24 and 31 with an optional field trip;
  • “The Sex Life of Trees: Five Spring Field Trips,” with instructor Carol Jefferson, 1-3 p.m. Wednesdays, March 19, April 2, 16 and 30, and May 13; and
  • “History of the Vietnam War,” with instructor Tomas Tolvaisas.
