Registration for Grandparents University at Winona State University is now open. For those looking for a perfect holiday gift, this is a unique offering.

Grandparents University is an opportunity for grandparents to explore college life with grandchildren for a two-day intergenerational learning experience that will take place June 20-21, 2013. Participants will learn in WSU classrooms with WSU professors, and sample the many summer highlights of WSU and the City of Winona. On campus housing in WSU’s New Residence Hall is also available.

Grandparents and grandchildren select a major of study and take classes in their field of interest during the two days of Grandparents University. Areas of study are: composites engineering, English, geoscience, mass communications, recreation and global studies.

Participants do not have to be a grandparent to participate. Grandparents University offers any special “Grandfriend” the opportunity to explore college life and create lifelong memories.

Grandparents University also will accept trios of participants. Two grandparents can bring one grandchild, or one grandparent can bring two grandchildren. All must be enrolled in the same major.
