Winona State University will host an art exhibit showcasing artists supported by Northern Clay Center’s McKnight Foundation Wednesday, Nov. 14, through Wednesday, Dec. 5, in the Paul Watkins Art Gallery.

The exhibit will feature seven artists, including Northern Clay Center’ 2011 grant-winners Gerard Justin Ferrari and Mika Negishi Laidlaw, as well as William Cravis, Rina Hongo, Naoto Nakada, Kevin Snipes and David Allyn, who received support by the foundation during their three-month residencies through use of Northern Clay Center’s kilns and studios.

Grants from the McKnight Foundation through the Northern Clay Center enable artists to pursue new projects, experiment with new materials, do research and devote attention to their art.

There will be an artist’s talk at 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, and reception at 5 p.m. in the Watkins Gallery.

Gallery hours are Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-4 p.m. and Wednesdays 8 a.m.-8 p.m.

The exhibit is free and open to the public.
