The Winona State University Foundation has established the Medallion Society as a new tribute to honor individuals whose philanthropy makes the university’s mission possible.
The WSU Presidential Medallion was a gift from students in 1968 in honor of former President Robert DuFresne’s inauguration. The medallion represents the people’s faith in education, a responsibility for the university’s mission, and guardianship on behalf of the State of Minnesota and future generations.
A display honoring Medallion Society members is located on the second floor of Somsen Hall.
