The Winona State University Department of Music will host the High School Honor Jazz Band Festival Nov. 9-10 in the Performing Arts Center.

Festival events include:

WSU Jazz Ensembles I and II and guest soloists from the David Berkman Quintet will perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, on the PAC Main Stage. The concert is free and open to the public.

The Ninth Annual High School Honor Band Student Concert will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, on the PAC Main Stage. The concert is free and open to the public.

The David Berkman Quintet will perform with select students from the high school honor band festival at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, on the PAC Main Stage. Quintet members include: David Berkman, piano; Tim Armacost, saxophone; David Smith, trumpet; Ed Howard, bass; and Gene Jackson, drums. Admission is $10 for adults, $6 for students and seniors.

The festival is coordinated by WSU music professor Rich MacDonald

This activity is funded in part by the Minnesota State Arts Board through the arts and cultural heritage fund as appropriated by the Minnesota State Legislature with money from the Legacy Amendment vote of the people of Minnesota in November 2008.
